In October 2025, we will launch a special exhibition entitled “Teen Mothers” – a powerful, visual exploration of a topic that is often overshadowed by social debates:

The exhibition takes its starting point in Tanzania, where early motherhood is a part of everyday life for many young girls – with serious consequences for education, health, and social participation. But the issue doesn't only affect Tanzania: Millions of girls and young women worldwide are affected by early pregnancy every year – often without adequate medical care, legal protection, or social support.

"Teen Mothers" illustrates the reality in many countries and aims to contribute to a broader, global discussion. The stories of these young mothers are unique—and at the same time, part of a global pattern that concerns us all.

The exhibition is based on a series of striking black-and-white portraits of teenage mothers – taken on location, with respect, time and an open ear for the stories behind the pictures.

The exhibition doesn't aim to accuse, but rather to raise awareness. It not only highlights challenges such as school dropouts, social exclusion, and lack of access to medical care – but also courage, dignity, and hope. It tells the story of young women who take on responsibility long before they themselves are allowed to become adults.

A panel discussion is planned to accompany the exhibition, bringing together experts, those affected, and interested parties to discuss the causes, effects, and possible ways of providing support. Because these topics deserve not just to be seen in pictures—they also deserve to be discussed.

A joint project with a strong message

"Teen Mothers" is part of a larger initiative supported by the NGO Forward Motion and committed individuals from Tanzania, Switzerland, and other parts of the world. The goal is to raise awareness, provide concrete assistance, and initiate long-term political and social change.

The exhibition will open in October 2025 – the exact location is yet to be announced. Parallel to the exhibition, we are planning events, discussions, and collaborations with organizations that advocate for the rights and future of young mothers.

More information is available on our new platform: www.onboardtogether.com

"Teen Mothers" is a growing project and thrives on people getting involved: as partners, supporters, and hosts. Perhaps "Teen Mothers" is a good fit for your gallery, your network, or your city. Perhaps you would like to be part of making these stories heard and seen.
