Run For Life
Since Gyn-Help was founded in 2024, our work has focused on Charlotte Hospital in Sanya Juu, a small town in the Kilimanjaro region in Tanzania.
The hospital was founded in 1977 and is run by the Holy Spirit Sisters. Every day, they care for women and families from the surrounding villages, often with far less than they need. We help in two ways: we buy urgently needed medical equipment directly for the hospital, and we support training for the local medical staff.
The aim is simple. When a woman comes in to give birth, the people caring for her should have the tools and the knowledge to keep her and the baby safe and to foster an environment that helps deliver the baby in the best possible conditions.
This month, two very dear friends are running for that cause. On October 25th, Shirin and Stefan will run the Lausanne Marathon to raise money for Gyn-Help. Shirin is a mother of two, and she knows how much good care matters in those vulnerable weeks before and after a birth. Their run is a celebration of every new life, and a way of saying that every mother deserves that same care, wherever she lives.
